July 2024 Storm Recovery Request for Bids: Excavation and Trucking Contractor Services: Repairs to Hines and West Hill Roads Contact for Information: Dillan Cafferky, Wolcott Road Foreman (802) 595-5577 Introduction: The Town of Wolcott ('Town') is requesting bids for repairs to Hines and West Hill Roads that sustained damage during the storm event of July 10-11, 2024. Repairs to be completed are specified in the scope of work below and will be funded by the Town. Please supply separate bids for each of the two roads. Contractor(s) awarded the job(s) will be required to sign a contract with the Town. Each road must be billed separately to meet FEMA requirements. Bids and invoices must itemize separately the work and materials for Class 3 and Class 4 roads. Scope of Work 1. Hines Road: Clean ditch as necessary, 6" minus stone, best fit: 2100 feet in length, ~8 ft wide, 3 feet deep Add ditching, best fit, no rock, grass: ~720 feet in length, 4.5 feet wide, 3 feet deep Add NEW culvert: Area of road affected for fill: 24" diameter, 60' length, best fit Add NEW culvert under a driveway: 24" diameter, 30' length, best fit Upsize four (4) culverts from 18" to 24": 40' length 2. West Hill Road: Culvert replacement; stone apron inlet and outlet; upgrade to 24", 40' length Clean ditch, best fit, no rock, grassy: 370' Specifications: Work must be completed by October 31, 2024. Work must be planned in consultation with Dillan Cafferky and comply with VT Municipal Road Standards. All materials (including culverts) will be billed directly to the Town of Wolcott. Contractor responsible for traffic control and appropriate signage.
