Question Deadline 09/30/2024 at 10:00 PM CT Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. A Bid Bond is not required for this solicitation. The Awarded vendor will be required to provide a Performance Bond as indicated on Attribute #4. Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for the removal and replacement of the existing building at the Victor West Bound Rest Area as per the attached drawings and specifications. Contractor to properly dispose of all materials from existing building and to maintain the safety of the site, including traffic control, during the demolition of existing building and construction of new building. Estimated Start Date: October 17, 2024. (Start date to be coordinated with the DOT Project Manager. This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract) Substantial Completion Date: December 15, 2025 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in constructions bids). See Attribute #12 for Liquidated Damages Requirements. Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via site. Bid Responses shall be submitted within site or signed and prepared in ink or typewritten in the solicitation documents provided.
