Tank Information: The structure is a 250,000-gallon spheroid elevated water storage tank with a low-water level of 80.25 ft. located at 8128 Misty Meadow Drive in Palos Heights, Ilinois. The work includes: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane fluoropolymer system. Coating is to be applied with partial containment. Dry Interior :Spot power tool clean the spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a spot two (2) coat epoxy system to the prepared surfaces. Dry Interior Fill/Draw Pipe: Remove the insulation and spot power tool clean the spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat thermal break coating system to the pipe. Dry Interior Fill/Draw Pipe - Alternate: Remove the insulation and abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial blast standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc thermal break coating system to the pipe. Pit Piping: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Foundation: Water clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Mixer: Install a mechanical mixer. Repairs: 1) Install a gasket on the bolted painter's hatch. 2) Install handholds at the access tube roof hatch. 3) Install deflector bars on the fill/draw pipe. 4) Install a mud valve. 5) Install a pressure vacuum vent. 6) Install a seal at the access tube air gap. 7) Weld steel plates over the cathodic lift holes. 8) Install roof rigging couplings. 9) Weld a rigging lug on the bowl. 10) Install insulation on the fill/ draw pipe. 11 ) Replace the expansion joint - alternate. 12) Replace the dry interior light bulbs.
