The project consists of replacing the timber running planks on the Hutchins Bridge located at the intersection of Sundance Road with the Madison River approximately 31 miles south of Ennis, MT. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Bid Item No. 1 - MOBILIZATION 1. Description: This item shall cover the costs of preparatory work and operations. 2. Work required under this section shall include but not be limited to the following: a. Move personnel, equipment, supplies and incidentals to the project site; b. Establish all facilities necessary for the work on the project; c. Obtain the required insurance; d. All other work and operations which must be performed prior to beginning work on the various items of the project. 3. Unit of Measurement: Lump Sum 4. Measurement: Measurement for MOBILIZATION will be per lump sum as indicated in the bid form. 5. Payment: Payment for MOBILIZATION will be per each as indicated in the bid form. B. Bid Item No. 2 - DEMO EXISTING RUNNING PLANKS AND CLEAN DECK: 1. Description: This item includes the removal and disposal of the existing timbers and cleaning of the entire deck surface of dirt and debris. 2. Work required under this section shall include but not be limited to the following: a. Removal of existing timbers (including all fasteners); b. Disposing of all aforementioned bridge elements; c. Cleaning of deck surface and properly disposing of dirt and debris. ; d. All labor, tools, equipment, materials, royalties, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified. 3. Unit of Measurement: Lump Sum 4. Measurement: Measurement for DEMO EXISTING RUNNING PLANKS AND CLEAN DECK shall be lump sum. 5. Payment: Payment will be made at the contract unit price bid per lump sum for DEMO EXISTING RUNNING PLANKS AND CLEAN DECK as indicated in the Bid Form. C. Bid Item No. 3 - TREATED TIMBER RUNNING PLANKS: 1. Description: This item includes the supply and installation of timber running planks as called out on the bridge repair details. 2. Work required under this section shall include but not be limited to the following: a. Furnishing of the 2"x10" Running Planks; b. Installation of the 2"x10" Running Planks; c. Supply and install all necessary fasteners; d. All labor, tools, equipment, materials, royalties, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified. 3. Unit of Measurement: BOARD FOOT 4. Measurement: Measurement for TREATED TIMBER RUNNING PLANKS shall be BOARD FOOT. 5. Payment: Payment will be made at the contract unit price bid per BOARD FOOT for TREATED TIMBER RUNNING PLANKS as indicated in the Bid Form.
