Estimated project cost is $60k. The City of Greenville will receive sealed bids to acquire and install a lighting system for the Fred Meijer Trail Hub Phase 1. The work will consist of a Base Bid to include a new control panel and meter to feed an existing building and a total of 5 light fixtures with 12-foot and 20-foot high poles; and approximately 770 feet of wiring. In addition, the City will consider an Additive Alternate bid to support a lighting system along the Trail to be fed from the Base Bid panel. This work will consiste of an additional 13 light fixtures with 12-foot high poles and approximately 570 feet of wiring. This Project is locally funded. All questions from BIDDERS, regarding any part of the Plans or Project Manual, shall be directed in writing to: Doug Hinken, P.E., City Engineer City of Greenville 411 S. Lafayette Street Greenville, MI 48838 Or by email at: dhinken@greenvillemi.org The City Engineer will obtain answers to written questions, either through electronically. All questions, answers or resulting Addenda will be posted publicly at electronically. The CITY OF GREENVILLE reserves the right to accept to reject any or all BIDS for sound, documentable business reasons. The competency and responsibility of BIDDERS will be considered in awarding CONTRACTS. The CITY OF GREENVILLE is not obligated to accept the lowest or any other bid. The CITY OF GREENVILLE reserves the right to waive any informality or minor defects in any or all bids. The CITY OF GREENVILLE reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities of BID ITEMS at the stated unit price without additional compensation. The successful bidder will be required to furnish PAYMENT and PERFORMANCE BONDS in the amount of the CONTRACT prior to 14 days before beginning the Project. The Bonds shall remain in effect until the final acceptance of the project. BONDS shall be supplied through a company that is licensed to do business in the State of Michigan on a form that is consistent with the industry standard of practice. The CITY OF GREENVILLE expects to issue a NOTICE TO PROCEED by October 16, 2024, with prompt receipt of the fully executed CONTRACT and required BONDS and INSURANCE certificate. The CONTRACTOR shall begin Work within 10 days of the NOTICE TO PROCEED. The following is an expected schedule for the Work: Bid Opening: September 24, 2024 Recommendation to Award: October 2, 2024 Notice to Proceed: ~October 16, 2024 Installation of Foundations and Wiring, restoration: December 16, 2024 Installation of Lights and start-up: April 16, 2025 All questions from BIDDERS, regarding any part of the Plans or Project Manual, shall be directed in writing to: Doug Hinken, P.E., City Engineer City of Greenville 411 S.
