Johnson County Stormwater Management Program is beginning a new Pipe Replacement Program. The need county-wide far outstrips available funds and recent changes in the County's Administrative Policies have moved a portion of their flood remediation funds for Capital Improvement Program to the new Pipe Replacement fund. This fund is set up to be a 50:50 cost share of eligible construction administration and construction costs. The Godddard & SMP Pipe Renewal project is a proposed project for 2025 and includes the replacement of 13 pipes (920 LF). The City share of this program is normally funded through the Stormwater Utility fee. However, due to the number of projects that are being awarded Johnson County Funding, matching funds are expected to be debt funded or funded from General Fund. Annual, as well as, historic pipe and structure condition inspection data provide the basis for prioritizing repairs. This project is included in the City of Shawnee 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of September 20, 2024, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
