Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf Glenbard Township High School District 87 is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the Summer 2025 Capital Improvements at all four Township High Schools. The project at Glenbard East entails the installation of a new 8,500-square-foot curtain wall system, roof replacement, a refresh of the library, and the complete refurbishment of twelve general purpose and three science class rooms. The hard wood gym floor at Glenbard South will be refinished, bleachers will be replaced, 24 new windows will be installed, and 66,000 SF of the roof will be replaced. In addition, Glenbard West will replace over 120 windows, refinishing of the hard wood gym floor, installation of new bleachers, complete renovation of five science class rooms, and selective masonry tuck pointing. Three science rooms in Glen bard North will undergo complete renovations along with new punched windows. The science classrooms at both North and West will have Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing upgrades associated with that work. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid may be required from the awarded Bidder. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. "FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS INVITATION TO BID WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OFTHE BIDDER". This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) int he county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website online. Challenges to such exemptions shall be defended solely by the Bidder. Bidders who are not pre-qualified in accordance with this Advertisement will have their bids returned unopened. To bid this project, bidders must be qualified by Gilbane Building Company. The prequalification application is to be completed online via Compass at https://compass-app.com/auth/register.
