The description of services intended for purchase from a single source is posted in accordance with section 3.9, Procurement Ordinance 23-21 and will be posted for a minimum of 15 business days. Commodity or Service Required: Purchase of reinforced concrete pipe Description: Lee County DOT is seeking to execute a single source for reinforced concrete pipe in various sizes by Foley Products Company. This pipe is used for drainage and sewer projects throughout the County. Intended Single Source: Foley Products Company Justification for Single Source Acquisition: Foley Products Company is now the sole manufacturer of the reinforced concrete pipe used by the County due to the sale of Rinker Materials and its pipe molds to Foley Products Company. These molds are crucial to the installation of culvert pipes throughout Lee County. Rinker Materials changed their design, and the new design does not match up to the existing culvert pipe installed. This would create more labor/time/money building collars for every job to connect new to the existing pipe. Recommended Procurement Approach: For the reason(s) stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to purchase from Foley Products Company for supplying the above.
