Late Proposals Will Be Rejected. The Town of Chelmsford DPW - Division is requesting bids from qualified Contractors. The work under this contract will include all equipment, labor, material, supplies, etc. necessary to furnish the work described in this contract. Cured-In-Place pipelines of two segments of 18" corrugated metal pipe. The total length is equal to 300 liner feet, starting from a catch basin on State Street +/- 145 ft to a catch basin located in a Town Owned easement (12 State Street), then +/- 155 ft to a catch basin in a Town Owned easement (10 State Street). Access to the Town Owned easement will be from State Street, and from Sands Place. This work is covered under Order of Conditions 129-0961 to cover this work and adjacent work to be done by DPW Stormwater DPW. Any questions regarding this Bid should be addressed to Anthony Reppucci by email: areppucci@chelmsfordma.gov. A bid bond of 5% payable to the Town of Chelmsford shall accompany each bid. This may be in the form of a certified check or bid bond. A Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 50% of the contract will be required from the successful bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK, payable to the Town, in the amount stated in INVITATION FOR BID. Such checks will be returned to all except the three (3) lowest responsible and eligible bidders within five (5) days, Saturday, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of bids, and the remaining checks will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the Contract, or if no notice of intent to award has been presented to the selected contractor within thirty (30) days, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays excluded, after the date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter. The said amount is fixed and agreed upon by and between the Contractor and the Owner because of the impracticability and extreme difficulty of fixing and ascertaining the actual damages the Owner would in such event sustain, and said amount is agreed to be the amount of damages which the Owner would sustain and said amount will be retained from time to time by the Owner from current periodical estimates. Right to Reject Bid The Town of Chelmsford acting through its Town Manager, the awarding authority, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the bid if it would be in the best interest of the Town. The Owner also reserves the right to reject the bid of any bidder that the Owner considers to be unqualified based on the criteria set forth herein.
