contractors for Terminal A and C Fiber Cabling Installation for John Wayne Airport (JWA). By certified or cashier's check from a responsible bank, cash or an original bidder's bond issued and executed by an admitted surety insurer authorized to transact surety insurance in California, made payable to the order of the county of Orange in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if it is awarded to that bidder. In the event the bidder to which the contract is awarded fails to provide bonds and insurance and meet other preconditions to the County's execution of the contract in a timely manner, the proceeds of the check or cash or the full sum of the bidder's bond will be forfeited to the County. SCOPE OF WORK Contractor shall perform all work as required by, and in strict accordance with, the Contract Documents (the "Project"), which consists of the following: A. Install Single Mode Fiber cable from the Lighting Vault to the North Telcom RM. 1. The SM fiber will terminate to SM-LC splice Corning cassettes and be housed in new Corning enclosures. The SM fiber will go to existing cabinets in the Lighting Vault and Terminal A Server room. 2. Work to include Corning rack mount enclosure, Corning splice cassettes, Misc. Mat tape, Velcro, labels, tie wraps, fiber tags, and rope. B. Install Single Mode Fiber cable from the North Telcom Rm to the Terminal A Server Room and Terminal C MDF (1073). 1. The SM fiber will terminate to SM-LC splice Corning cassettes and housed in new Corning enclosures. 2. Work to include Corning rack mount enclosure, Corning splice cassettes, Misc. Ma tape, Velcro, labels, tie wraps, fiber tags, and rope. a. Using existing airfield pathways, install fiber cables along with a nylon rope, or pull string. b. Please use proper PPE when installing in the manholes or man vaults, Outside Plant cabling installation shall be the preferred type of fiber optic cabling. c. Please document all existing pathways and submit them to JWA for documentation purposes. d. Label Fiber in all accessible areas including manholes and vaults. Including the head end locations or termination points. e. Terminate and test fiber cables with Power Meter and turn in test results to JWA. Failed test results will not be accepted. f. JWA will inspect the pathway and installation of the fiber cables before the project can be closed out. g. Fiber Optic products shall be manufactured by Corning unless specified by the owner h. All Installation shall be done in conformance with ANSI/TIA/EIA 568B and BICSI installation guidelines. The contractor shall ensure that the max pulling tension of the specified fiber optic cable are not exceeded and the cable bends maintain the proper radius require the Contractor to provide, in a timely fashion, the additional material and labor necessary to properly rectify the situation. This shall also apply to any and all damages sustained to the cables by the contractor during the implementation.
