Operational issues of the travelling bridge scraper assemblies in the secondary clarifiers led to a detailed review, where it was concluded the majority of the equipment has reached its expected service life. Therefore, the Town is proceeding with replacement/upgrades to the bridge scraper assemblies to improve system operation and maintenance. The following upgrades will be included in the project: Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Demolition Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Installation Miscellaneous Structural Modifications The Town has pre-purchased the secondary clarifier bridge scraper assembly equipment from a supplier (Ovivo Inc.) which requires the services of a Qualified Contractor to perform the installation. Major work items for this contract will include demolition and installation of the following general items: 1. Travelling Bridge Scraper Assembly (2 Clarifiers) a. Running rails, including stops, rail joining materials, fastenings and anchor bolts b. Cog wheels, c. Limit switches, including secondary safety system, d. Anti-derail protection, e. Bridge drive, f. Control panel - bridge-mounted in NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure, g. Sludge collection components, including undercarriage frames, scrapers including support frames, flights, and squeegees, h.
