The Town of Mount Pleasant (Town) will receive Bids from qualifie, interested Bidders for the installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons at four (4) locations within the Town, as specified within the solicitation documents. In general, but not limited to, the Work will consist of the installation of RRFB's at four (4) locations. Construction activities will consist of installation of new RRFB's, installation of radar feedback signs, tree protection, erosion control, traffic control, and signage installation. Existing pavements are not designed to support all traffic, machinery, and vehicle types. The successful Bidder shall be responsible for any repairs on existing pavement, be it County, private, or State owned; due to damage from construction activities. If it can be proven by the successful Bidder that he was operating within the legal limits, and the damage was not from carelessness or negligence of the Contractor, then he shall not be liable for damages Installation of the RRFB's shall be prior to the installation of radar feedback signs. o Installation of RRFB's shall be installed in the following manner: 1. Rifle Range Road near Myrick Road 2. Mathis Ferry at Eagle Street 3. Mathis Ferry at Milldenhall Road 4. Ben Swayer Boulevard near Cove Bay Lane o Installation of radar feedback signs can occur in any order but only after all RRFB's have been installed. Questions Due Date: Oct 1st 2024, 12:00 PM EDT All work shall be completed within 90 days from receipt of Purchase Order. The Town of Mount Pleasant wants to pursue safety improvements for pedestrians on Rifle Range Road (S-10- 51) near the intersection of Myrick Road (S-10-1065) as determined in the "Rifle Range Road at Myrick Road East Cooper Montessori Charter School RRFB Justification Study." The proposed improvements include: Installation ofRectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons at the existing crossing on Rifle Range Road near its intersection with Myrick Road . Call SC811 for utility locates. Install tree protection and delineate clearing limits ifrequired. Clearing & grubbing only as necessary for installation of erosion control BMPs ifrequired. Install silt fence and all other erosion control items ifrequired. Install rapid reflective flashing beacons. Install crosswalk ahead signage ifrequired. Remove existing pedestrian signs. Fine grade and seeding. Remove installed erosion control items after site has been stabilized. The Town of Mount Pleasant intends to pursue safety improvements for pedestrians on Mathis Ferry Road (S-10-56) near Milldenhall Road as determined in the Mathis Ferry Road (S-10-56) at Eagle Street Pedestrian Upgrade Study performed in February of 2024.
