The client has retained MBC to act as their Construction Manager for the construction of a new affordable housing apartment building located in Ottawa. The scope of work involves the renovation of a the 4-storey, 39 units residential building built in 2006 located at 2000 Scott Street, Ottawa, ON that also borders on Athlone Avenue recently. The building suffered extensive damage to interior finishes due to a burst sprinkler pipe in February 2023. The interior finishes of the waterdamaged areas were substantially removed by specialized restorations firms, leaving the building structure framing and exterior wall cladding. Some interior finishes remain on parts of the top floor, however most interior walls on all floors have had some part of or all the existing wall finish removed. Mechanical and electrical systems are intact, except for much of the ducting, diffusers, plumbing fixtures, lights, and wall-mounted devices with the affected spaces, which have been removed.
