The Town of Ripton is accepting bids for stone and woody debris removal at and near a flood chute on the south bank of the Middlebury River in Ripton's historic village. The flood chute debris removal is a FEMA DR4720 project. The flood chute entrance apron is approximately 65' long. remove woody debris at entry and top of flood chute lower the height of the flood chute entry 1', slope back into the floodplain remove stone from river (quantity to be determined at pre-construction conference) dispose debris at an approved area provide and manage traffic control measures to maintain traffic flow and safety An addendum will be posted after the pre-bid site inspection. Access to the flood chute will be from the bank along Route 125 downstream from and west of 1446 Rte 125. It will be shown at the pre-bid meeting and is marked on an attached map. Construction may begin as soon as possible after a certificate of insurance is received, a contract is signed, and permits are confirmed. The project is anticipated to be complete by Dec. 31, 2024. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received, to accept any bid even though it may not be the lowest bid, to call for rebids, to negotiate with any bidder, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this request for bids as in the best interest of the Town.
