D/B - IERCF Active Feed Hopper. Question Deadline 09/25/2024 at 3:00 PM PT Online Q&A Yes Start Date- Take 6 month Attachments include reference photos and paint/coatings spec. 1. Manufacturers must verify field measurements prior to beginning fabrication. Reference the contacts listed in this document to schedule a site visit. 2. Conveyor support structure will be permanently mounted to concrete floor 3. The conveyor/feed hopper will be used to move composted biosolids feedstock. Feedstock sizing is 8" minus, ground wood chunks and biosolids primarily, with occasional logs, rocks and trash. Feedstock is wet, very sticky and tends to clump. Moisture content ranges between 50% - 68% 4. Feedstock bulk density is <=1600 lbs. per cubic yard 5. Hopper capacity will be approximately 15 cubic yards. Actual must be noted on shop drawings per final design 6. Hopper length minimum 180". Bucket width is 120". Feeding is done at 10 yards per bucket dumped into hopper. Hopper wall slope angle is to be kept at a minimum to minimize accumulation on hopper walls. 7. The existing hopper utilizes a 40HP VFD drive unit to optimize feed rates. Belt drive motor must be compatible with VFD duty rating. Feedstock material has variables, and it is necessary to use different belt speeds to manage the variables. 8. The head pulley gear drive and motor must be capable of running in forward and reverse direction. 9. Hopper height from ground floor to top of hopper walls to be 10' maximum. 10. Hopper must have an agitator shaft as part of design to break up feedstock material to reduce bridging. The agitator will run the length of the hopper. Mild steel is acceptable. See attached photos for reference examples. Agitator shaft drive must be capable of operating in forward and reverse. 11. Production capacity required of hopper <=2000 cubic yards in a period of 8.5 hours 12. Preferred metal is 304 or better stainless steel for all hopper and skirting structure. 13. Alternative coatings must be approved prior to application. For paint/coating specs refer to paint spec attachment. The environment is indoors with high humidity and ammonia vapor present. All mild steel components not properly coated will deteriorate in a short period of time. 14. Hopper walls, regardless of mild steel or SS construction, will be lined with 3/4" UHMW 15. All conveyor components must be mine duty rated 16. Skirting adjustment must be accessible externally on the hopper and wherever feasible throughout the conveyor 17. The conveyor frame will be 30' minimum length and may extend to 35' based on actual field measurements and design concept. Hopper will sit within this conveyor frame length 18. Belting is 60" wide, 3 ply, MOR. 60" hopper belt feeds onto an uphill 48" belt 19. The head pulley must have ceramic lagging. Shaft size needs to be specified in the design. 20. The tail pulley shaft will be 2 15/16", or 3 7/8" diameter, or an exact size match to the head pulley shaft. 21. Acceptable pillow block bearing brands are and Rexnord. Head and tail pulley bearings will be located outside of hopper and skirting structure to be accessible for maintenance. 22. Impact rollers will be located 7" on center for the entire length of the hopper. Flat rollers are to be used, 7" on center, for the remaining conveyor belt. 23. Return rollers will be self-cleaning where possible and per industry standard 24. Must use ASGCO wiper on head pulley of conveyor belt. 25. Must use belt positioner on hopper conveyor belt.
