A brief description of work in the project follows: There are two major parts to the proposed renovation at the school. The first part is the replacement of the four packaged rooftop units on the roof of the media center that provide conditioning to the media center including selective replacement of the roof mounted ductwork, supports, controls, and power. This part has alternate bids for curb adaptors and replacement of air-distribution devices. The second part is the replacement of the two air-handling units in the mechanical rooms in the auditorium that provide conditioning to the auditorium including selective replacement of above ceiling ductwork, supports, power, chilled water piping, steam piping, and louvers. This component has alternates for a new roll-up door at each mechanical room and painting of the mechanical room. A 5% Bid Bond and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required for this project. Questions regarding the bid should be directed in writing to Joel Palma, Palma Engineers, at joel@palma-engineers.com. Last day for questions is on Friday, September 27, 2024 by 5:00 PM. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities. Document Note: For hardcopies, cash or checks (no credit card is accepted) shall be made to Palma Engineers, and can either be mailed to Palma Engineers c/o Joel Palma, PO Box 18822, Greensboro, NC 27419 or hand delivered to the office of Palma Engineers, 218-1 S. Swing Road, Greensboro, NC 27409. If no hardcopy plans and specifications are readily available, they will be made available within 48 hours for the contractor to return to pick-up.
