The Scope of Work shall be performed in accordance with this Contract, Supplemental Information, Exhibits, Attachments, Plans and other Contract documents. The proposed Work shall include but not be limited to the following: remove existing 12.5-ton ground level package unit and replace with new 12.5-ton ground level unit (Work). Bid Security in the form of cash, a cashier's check, certified check or electronic Bid Bond, executed on the prescribed form, in an amount not less than ten (10) percent of the total bid price payable to the City of Elk Grove (City) is required for each Bid submitted. The City must receive the Bid Security in the form of cash, cashier's check, certified check, or electronic Bid Bond, in advance of the Bid due date and time. If an electronic Bid Bond is used, verification of an electronic Bid Bond issued by Surety2000 or SuretyWave, LLC shall be uploaded to the City of Elk Grove Vendor Portal through online in advance of the Bid due date and time. Hard copy Bid Bonds will not be accepted. Bid Security received thereafter will likely result in rejection of the Bidder's Bid Proposal for non-responsiveness. The Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC) for the Total Bid Price is $50,000 (basis for award). Bid Alternate A shall not be used to determine low bid. In order to bid on or to be listed on the bid proposal for this Public Works Project all Contractors and subcontractors shall be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and be qualified to perform Public Work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code. Unregistered Contractors may still submit bids provided the bid is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by either Section 10164 and 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code and all Contractors including subcontractors are registered with the Department of Industrial Relations to perform Public Work pursuant to California Labor Code Section 1725.5 at the time the bid is submitted. DIR registration is not required on Projects that do not exceed $25,000, which are for construction, alteration, demolition, installation, or repair work or for public works projects for maintenance when $15,000 or less.
