Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Town of Westfield in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions .Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington & Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Sealed bids must include one (1) PDF file of the bid on a flash drive/CD and two printed copies of all completed forms. DESCRIPTION In general, the work on this project consists of replacing existing equipment and piping for the main pool and training pool filtering systems, replacing and upgrading filter valving, replacing UV disinfection units for the main pool, training pool, and kiddie pool, removal and disposal of equipment, and relocating existing equipment. The existing main pool filtration system isundersized and will increase in filter capacity to meet community pool filtration regulations. The existing main pool and training pool filtration systems do not currently have a rinse cycle by valving. A rinse cycle will be added to the filtration system in this scope. The new valving will contain automatic backwash and rinse functions via a control panel. The existing ultraviolet disinfection units are of an old model that is no longer in production. The UV systems for all three pool systems will be upgraded in this scope. The Westfield Memorial Pool serves as the community public pool and operates during the summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The work on this project is for the Town of Westfield in Union County, New Jersey, completed as specified within these Contract Documents and as shown on Drawings, appended to these specifications.
