This project provides for the construction of Access Ramps at Milepost 238.24 of the PA Turnpike mainline both eastbound and westbound. Included is utility coordination, storm water management and guide rail installation and improvement. Work items include, but are not limited to: 45,841 CY Class 1 Excavation 539 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, PG 64E-22, 12.5mm Mix 1,531 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course PG 64E-22, 19.0mm Mix 343 LF 18" Pipe 633 LF 24" Pipe, various types 1,112.5 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail 2,283 LF Type 2 Right-of-Way Fence Milepost 238.24 is located approximately 2.2 miles east of the Gettysburg Pike Interchange, Exit 236, in Cumberland County and approximately 3.8 miles west of the Harrisburg West Interchange, Exit 242, in York County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
