Campus - Wide Improvements at their Elementary School Question Deadline 09/24/2024 at 3:00 PM MT Summary of the Work 5.1 Roofing scope involves roofing work at the following buildings on the Continental Elementary School Campus: SFB #1003, SFB #1009, SFB #1010, SFB #1011 SFB #1012 and 1013. 5.1.1 Test, repair, clean, prep and paint existing metal downspouts. 5.1.2 Intercept existing roof drain conductors from the roof drains of building #1003. Install new primary roof drain leaders, extend across lower west building roof and down west wall to new sidewalk scuppers. Install new secondary roof drain leaders at gymnasium roof and extend to discharge through west gymnasium wall above lower west building roof. 5.1.3 Prepare, spot prime and paint all steel including metal trim and exposed flashings. Back prime all new steel. Do not paint factory finished metal. 5.1.4 Provide third party testing to conduct roof pull tests. 5.1.5 Repair, prepare and prime existing roof surface. Cut out and repair damaged areas. Apply new seamless roof coating system to entire roof surface. 5.1.6 Remove existing sheet metal parapet coping as indicated on drawings. Install new sheet metal parapet coping per drawings and specification. 5.1.7 Licensed tradesperson to replace electrical whips and condensate piping with new at all roof top mechanical units in the work area. Extend condensate piping to roof gutters, downspouts or existing roof penetrations intended for this purpose. 5.1.8 Provide all new roof blocks and supports for roof mounted whips, condensate piping and utilities. 5.1.9 Appropriate trades person to modify or extend any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, cctv, telephone, antennae, sound, or lighting facilities, etc. Found to obstruct the work of this project. 5.1.10 Clean all roof and wall surfaces in work area upon completion of work.Weatherization scope involves the following: 5.2.1 Pressure wash all exterior masonry walls to remove efflorescence, discolorations, and chalking residue in preparation for application of coating. Pressure washing activities shall not cause spalling of masonry. 5.2.2 Prior to application of wall coating, patch and repair all cracks, holes, and defects in the existing masonry with masonry soaping, cementitious repair material, and/or tuckpointing where appropriate, and repair cracks with an acrylic crack sealer. At cracks larger than 1/8", use an elastomeric caulking compound designed for expansion joints. Repair materials and coating shall be compatible. 5.2.3 Prep, prime, and coat all exterior walls, full height to 3" below existing grade, including roof side of parapet walls where masonry is exposed - typical. Prior to wall coating application, excavate existing soil away from wall down to 3" below existing grade. After coating application and full curing, regrade soil to existing grade, providing positive drainage from building at all locations, typical. 5.2.4 Tape off and protect all wall mounted signage, electrical devices, light fixtures, fire alarm devices, speakers, etc. 5.2.5 Remove and replace all exterior masonry joint sealant and backer rod throughout, including masonry control joints (MCJ) and masonry expansion joints (MEJ) - typical. 5.2.6 Remove and replace perimeter sealant at all exterior hollow metal window frames as required for weathertight condition - typical. Prep and paint all exterior hollow metal window frames. 5.2.7 Remove and replace perimeter sealant at all exterior hollow metal door frames as required for weathertight condition - typical. Prep and paint all exterior hollow metal door frames. 5.2.8 Prep and paint all exterior hollow metal doors
