Award of Agreement:October 28, 2024 Execute agreement:October 30, 2024 Project Agreement Start Date:November 1, 2024 Scope of Work Provide landscape maintenance services in medians and right-of-ways at multiple locations throughout the City of Benicia as described herein. The City of Benicia is a Bay Area City located adjacent to the Carquinez Strait, which is part of San Francisco Bay. A waterfront City of 28,000, Benicia is known for its small-town charm, history, and high quality of life. Licenses The contractor shall maintain in effect the following licenses, with proof of licensing submitted with the proposal: o Current C-27 Landscape Contractor's License issued by the California Contractors State License Board; o Maintenance Gardener Pest Control Business License or Pest Control Business License issued by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation; o City of Benicia Business License Bushes, shrubs, groundcover, and plants to be pruned for appearance and/or to prevent obstruction of pathways, parking areas or the irrigation system. Trees less than 15 feet to be pruned to improve the health, structure, and symmetry of the trees while maintaining clearances from structures and over walkways. Trees less than 15 feet to be staked as needed. City reserves the right to make such modifications or additions to the form of Professional Services Agreement attached to this RFP, as City may elect in its sole discretion prior to the execution thereof, and thereafter as otherwise permitted by the Professional Services Agreement. Otherwise, City reserves the right to make modifications or additions with the mutual consent of the Selected Respondent. Summary The City of Benicia Public Works (PW) Department is requesting proposals from qualified companies for Landscape Maintenance Services during the fiscal years 2024/25-2025/26. The selected proposer will enter into a two (2) year Contract to perform all services outlined in the "Scope of Work." The Contract may be renewed for two (2) additional one-year terms (for a maximum contract length of four (4) fiscal years) based on mutual agreement by the City and Consultant. The City of Benicia is looking at options to improve operational efficiency and achieve a cost savings by contracting out certain landscape maintenance activities in the medians and right-of-ways. This will allow city staff to concentrate their efforts in the parks and on more specialized maintenance tasks.
