This project generally consists of installation of a spray park with associated plumbing and electric, rubber safety surface, exercise equipment, playground equipment, masonry walkways, drainage, underground stormwater management and other miscellaneous related work items. Successful bidder must comply with all Federal and State requirements contained in the project specifications. All questions must be in writing to the Engineer, CME Associates. Proposals may be delivered or mailed before that time to the office of the Director of Public Works, City Hall, Room 308, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza, Elizabeth, New Jersey, 07201. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check or surety bond of a corporation acceptable to the City and in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid presented, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00. Each bidder must also submit with his bid a certificate from a responsible surety company stating that the said surety company will provide in the event that he should be the successful bidder, surety bond(s) in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contracted price and subject to such conditions as contained in the specifications. The City specifically reserves the right to waive minor or inconsequential discrepancies and technical omissions in accordance with applicable law, with regard to the bidding requirements and as determined by City Council to be immaterial. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the required bond(s) and certificates of insurance and to execute the contract within ten (10) calendar days from the award of the contract. Construction must begin within ten (10) calendar days after written notice to do so shall have been given to the Contractor by the Director of Public Works, and shall be carried on regularly and uninterruptedly, at a rate to insure its full completion within the specified calendar days after such notice. If at the time of award of the contract, the successful bidder has one or more contracts for projects with the City or is subsequently awarded a contract for other projects with the City than it will be required to work concurrently on all projects without interruption or delays. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
