The scope of work includes the full replacement of the traffic signal located at the intersection of Park Avenue and the Sacred Heart University Driveway in Fairfield, Connecticut. The project also includes the construction of new ADA/PROWAG compliant sidewalk ramps and crosswalks, roadway resurfacing in the area of the signal upgrades, and new signage and pavement markings. Additional scope of work described in bid documents. To provide labor, materials, equipment and all else necessary for traffic signal replacement and 360 video detection installation at four intersections The work to be done under this contract includes furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, testing, and services to construct a complete traffic control signal installation and associated roadway work. Specifically, the work to be done at the intersections includes the installation of new traffic control signal equipment including cabinet and controller, vehicle optical pre-emption, mast arms, pedestals, pedestrian and vehicular signal heads, 360-degree video detection, conduit, wire, concrete handholes, signage, and pavement markings. The work also entails the removal and reconstruction of curbs and sidewalks, temporary signalization, utility coordination and accommodation, and all work necessary and incidental thereto in accordance with construction plans and the specifications. The work also includes maintenance and protection of traffic during construction and the maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian access to abutting properties and, unless otherwise directed by the Engineer, uninterrupted and acceptable signal operation at all times. Question Deadline 09/19/2024 at 4:30 PM ET, Written requests for information will not be accepted. Questions concerning this bid must be submitted in writing and directed only to: Ms. Lee A. Flaherty, Assistant Director LFlaherty@fairfieldct.org . Response will be in the form of an addendum that will be posted approximately Friday, 20th September 2024 to online. A five (5) percent bid bond or equal approved security as stated per the Terms and Conditions must be submitted with the proposal. All bonds, including payment and performance bonds when applicable, shall be written by a surety company or companies licensed to issue bonds in the State of Connecticut, and shall have at least an A-VII policy holders rating, as reported by A.M. Best Rating Services, or otherwise deemed acceptable by the Town. The Town always reserves the right to reject surety companies, if an approved surety bond cannot be provided the bidder shall be deemed non-responsive. The successful bidder, within seven (7) business days after notification of award, will be required to furnish Performance and Labor and Material Bond provided by a company authorized to issue such bonds in the State of Connecticut, or Certified Check or properly executed Irrevocable Letter of Credit equal to a hundred per cent (100%) of the award This is a prevailing wage rates project and is subject to all CTDOL requirements. Certified Payroll will be required for all work completed. After Review of All Factors, Terms and Conditions, Including Price, the Purchasing Authority of the Town Of Fairfield Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, or Any Part Thereof, or Waive Defects in Same, or Accept Any Proposal Deemed to Be in the Best Interest of the Town of Fairfield.
