SCOPE The approximate quantities for major items of work are as follows: 1 Excavation 60,000 cubic yards 2 Daily Cover Material (Placement) 30,000 cubic yards 3 Stockpile 1,000 cubic yards 4 Intermediate Cover30,000 cubic yards 5 Hourly Work (Allowance) $200,000 6 Work Performed at Other Sites (Allowance)$20,000 7 Silt Fence500 LFT The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting bids for the Kent County Department of Public Works Annual Earthwork Contract at the South Kent Landfill. The initial contract will be a one (1) year period, December 1, 2024 - November 30, 2025. The County reserves the right to renew the contract for two (2) additional, one (1) year terms at the prices contained herein and upon mutual agreement of both parties and approval of the Purchasing Manager. Inquiries Deadline Date & Time (local) 9/19/2024, 2 PM Each offer over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for 5% of the total amount of the offer. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file a certified dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashiers check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract.
