The location, general characteristics, and principal details of the Work are indicated in a set of drawings, entitled "Town of Bolton, Massachusetts, Roundabout Improvements at Main Street, Forbush Mill Road and Green Road" The work in the base bid contract includes, but is not limited to, roadway and roundabout construction, roadway widening, pavement milling and overlay, installation of new granite curb, sidewalk, shared use path and handicap ramp installation, stormwater improvements, median islands, RRFB's, pavement striping and signage, temporary traffic controls and signing for construction operations and other various items to complete the improvements. The project includes major geometric modifications to the intersection and roadway, include vertical grade alterations. Minor drainage improvements will be required to properly accommodate the geometric and vertical grade changes. The project will include other improvements in accordance with the plans and these Special Provisions. The contract will also include an Additive Bid #1 which will include the construction of a new residential driveway off Main Street at STA 12+80 +/- LT for 1076 Main Street, as shown on the plans. To bid on this project, Contractors must be prequalified in accordance with 720 CMR 5.00, Prequalification of Contractors by MassDOT in the Category of "Highway Construction." Estimated value of project is $1,747,245.00. Bid Security: Certified, treasurer's or cashier's check or bid bond in the sum of five (5) percent of the Total Bid is required. The successful bidder will commence the work required by the contract documents as specified in the written notice to proceed and will fully completed by November 15, 2025, unless the Contract is extended. A complete set of Bidding Documents shall be used in preparing Bids; neither Owner nor Engineer assumes any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of the incomplete sets of Bidding Documents or for modifications to the Bidding Documents including electronic conversion. Liquidated Damages for each consecutive calendar day of delay in project completion time is $1,200.00/day. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within Thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The successful Bidder must furnish 100 percent Performance and Labor and Materials Bonds.
