Reference Number 0000277734 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/09/13 02:00:00 PM EDT West Wing Cooling Tower Renewal. ONLY CONTRACTORS ON IO VOR LIST INVITED SPECIFICALLY TO THIS SOLICITATION MAY BID THIS PROJECT - Work of the Contract comprises of the like-for-like replacement of the existing West Wing cooling tower of approximately 90T cooling capacity. - The existing cooling tower is a closed-circuit type, and it is serving a water loop heat pump system. The working fluid is glycol-water solution 50%. The serves 7 laboratories, 365 days, 24h a day. To allow replacement, the laboratories will be placed on standby for a maximum of two days. - The replacement of the tower shall not take more than two days to complete. Include for all necessary crews (welder, electrician, etc.) and material for expedited work. - Organize cooling tower replacement with a crane and all other necessary work to last no more than two days during Family Day long weekend 2025. If the tower arrives earlier, include for storage. The selection of a replacement weekend days is at absolute discretion of the client within project timeline. - Provide detailed work plan to Engineer for review 3 weeks before replacement day. Include to review 7 laboratories served by cooling tower before replacement with facilities staff and coordinate. - For complete Scope of Work refer to all drawings, specification and other contract documents. The Scope of Work shall include, but not be limited to the following: - Make any necessary temporary connections, if any, to run the new tower within two days time. - Disconnect the power, isolate the tower, drain the 50% glycol-water, drain the basin, drain the chemical treatment pipe. - Disconnect all connections and remove the old tower complete with spring isolators from site. - Clean the structural steel to shine where corroded and paint with galvanized steel paint. - Dry the paint with portable heaters if necessary. - Place, the new tower on new isolators and existing structural steel. Secure all to structural steel. - Make all connections. Fill the system and bleed. - Provide cable conduits for spray pump, fan, electric heater and controls. Existing cables can be reused. Contractor to investigate before replacement date condition of the conduits and wiring and report to Engineer if there are any issues. - Provide new VFD and Control Panel. - Provide new 120V service outlet. Include for electrical wiring to nearby mechanical room and breaker. - Engage manufacturer representative for startup and provide report. - Engage manufacturer representative for VFD startup and provide report. - Include for commissioning activities throughout entire project such as CMMS forms, functional testing, training, etc.. - Strict adherence to construction schedule and tight coordination with operating staff is required. - Minimum 2 weeks notice is required for any work on site. - A detailed MOP will be required for the shutdown - Identify each piece of equipment based on drawings. Identify each piece of equipment on electrical panels' directories including power for control devices. - For construction schedule refer to front end documents. Submit detailed schedule to and obtain approval from Owner, Project Manager and Consultant for any shut-down or closure of active service or facility including power and communications services. Adhere to approved schedule and provide notice to affected parties. Total Performance: On or before March 07, 2025 Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
