Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: 1. Removal and replacement of concrete streets along Briarcreek Street, Quail Run Drive, and 4 Oaks Street. 2. Removal and replacement of storm sewer pipe and associated appurtenances. 3. Removal and replacement of water main and associated appurtenances. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each Bid. A certified checkor bank draft payable to the City of Richwood or negotiable U.S.Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of theBid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing Davis-Bacon and Related Acts wage rate, as issued by the Texas General Land Office - Community Development& Revitalization and contained in the Contract Documents, must bepaid on this project. In addition, the successful Bidder must ensurethat employees and applicants for employment are not discriminatedagainst because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, genderidentity, or national origin. Pursuant Chapter 2269 Subchapter C of the Texas GovernmentCode, a contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible Bidderthat has the experience and reputation, quality of goods and services, safety record, proposed personnel, and financial capability tocomplete this project. The bidder selected will be notified at the earliest possible date. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bidsand to waive any informality in bids received where such action is inits interest. The City pays for goods and services according to theprovisions of Chapter 2251 of the Government Code. Bids may be held by the City of Richwood for a period not to exceed60 days from the date of the Bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the Bidder's qualifications prior to theContract Award. The City of Richwood is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Section 3 Residents, Minority Business Enterprises, SmallBusiness Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders shall complywith regulations governing the CDBG Disaster Recovery Program(Regulation 24 CFR 570). All contractors/subcontractors whose System for Award Management (SAM.gov) registration is not active or that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation onfederal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in partor in full under this project.
