The NW Johnson and NW Kearney Street: NW 9th Ave to NW Broadway LID Local Improvement District (LID) Project (Johnson/Kearney Project) is a Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) project that will construct new streets in NW Portland at the site of the former United States Postal Service (USPS) site. Improvements include grading, drainage, paving, striping, signing, illumination, signals, roadside development, and landscaping. The Johnson/Kearney Project will construct the extension of two streets (Johnson and Kearney Streets) and a portion of NW Park Avenue on the former United States Postal Service site ("USPS site") in NW Portland, and make modifications to NW 9th Avenue, NW Johnson (between NW 9th Avenue and NW 10th Avenue) and adjacent intersections. These transportation improvements are associated with redevelopment of the USPS site, which is owned by the City of Portland and part of the larger Broadway Corridor redevelopment effort led by Prosper Portland, the City of Portland's economic development agency.
