Bids will be reviewed and recommended for award to the lowest qualified Bidder at the Public Meeting of Borough of Deer Lake, 238 Lake Front Drive, Deer Lake, Orwigsburg, PA 17961 at their regularly scheduled meeting. The Contractor shall furnish the labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services to remove sediment and debris from the lake. Sediment and debris shall be removed from the Lake at the cost of the Contractor. Deer Lake Borough will not compensate the contractor for sediment and debris removed. The sediment removed from the lake shall become the private property of the Contractor. The quantity of dredged material, including sediment, being removed from the lake is estimated to be approximately 55,000 cubic yards. Deer Lake Borough will provide Off-Road fuel for equipment used in the lake to remove the sediment. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Surety Company's Bid Bond on the form provided in the Bid Documents, naming as payee or Obligee the Borough of Deer Lake in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted. The Surety Company must be acceptable to said Borough. The successful bidder (Contractor) will be required to execute the Agreement and to furnish a "Performance Bond" all in the respective forms provided in the Contract Documents. The Contractor also will be required to furnish evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Contract Documents. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage does not apply to this contract. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the contract documents must be paid on this project, and that employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statutes, rules and regulations dealing with prevention of environmental pollution and the preservation of public, natural resources that affect the project. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the above specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of Bids, except as specifically provided by law. The Borough of Deer Lake reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all Bids, and the above invitation to Bidders is made for the benefit of the Borough of Deer Lake and no rights shall be deemed to accrue to any person making a Bid by reason of the submission of any bid hereunder or by waiver or non-enforcement of any provision of requirement of this invitation
