Subject to conditions prescribed by the undersigned, Prequalification Questionnaires from Contractors licensed as follows: C-39 Roofing Contractor are invited for the following works: BONNER HALL ROOF REPLACEMENT The prequalified Contractors will competitively bid for two (2) separate lump-sum contracts. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 145429: Bonner Hall Roof Replacement Estimated Project Duration is 300 calendar days Project is full removal and replacement of Bonner Hall roof. New single ply KEE roofing to be installed on top of new lightweight cellular concrete and rigid insulation to add the required slope in the roof to insure proper drainage. The University seeks Roofing Contractors with demonstrated experience in the complete removal and disposal of existing built-up roofing, installation and certification of a new PVC (polyvinyl chloride), TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) and KEE (ketone ethylene ester) roof system with lightweight cellular concrete. Contractors must demonstrate experience in PVC, TPO and KEE roofing system installation on commercial or institutional buildings with at least 50,000 total square feet roofing area. Contractors must be familiar with working around and temporarily relocating existing rooftop equipment such as HVAC equipment and solar panels. Specific experience requirements include: Work in an occupied research facility, working in a noise sensitive area, experience adhering to strict material disposal rules and requirements, maintaining the continuous operations of the existing building mechanical and electrical equipment while performing the work, familiarity with working in and around existing rooftop equipment by temporarily relocating the equipment, demonstrate safety measures taken to keep staff and others safe while removing and installing roofing material, ability to provide updated schedules using MS Projects, and ability to produce timely monthly billings using required billing forms. The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $6,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects. Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: working with limited staging areas, working in challenging hard to reach spaces with stationary equipment, the use of lifts and/or conveyor equipment for various uses (e.g. no access to bring material on to working space), and the use of Cellular Concrete and pumping to multi story buildings. Potential bidders will be required to submit their small business outreach plan to the University as part of the prequalification process. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
