The Richard Drive waterline improvements project includes replacing an existing 6-inch waterline with a new 8-inch C-909 waterline. The selected contractor shall install new service lines and meter pits as shown on the plans. The long service lines are called out to be bored under the pavement and placed in a service line sleeve. A detail for the service sleeve is included in the plans. The City will provide guidance to the selected contractor on the opening and closing of valves and the work flow progression if needed. The Bid Bond is to be for 100% of the bid. Alternately, a certified check or other negotiable instrument may accompany the bid. Such instrument is to be made for 10% of the bid amount. A performance bond on the part of the successful contractor for 100% of the contract price. A "Contract Bond" or "Performance Bond" is one executed in connection with a contract to secure fulfillment of all the contract. A payment bond on the part of the contractor for 100% of the contract. A "payment bond" is one executed in connection with a contract to assure payment as required by law of all persons supplying labor and material in the execution of the work provided for in the contract.
