Gaston County Schools is soliciting bids from qualified Single Prime Contractors to provide construction services for two (2) new concessions and restroom buildings to be constructed at the football field at Hunter Huss High School located at 1518 Edgefield Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052. Each of the new buildings is approximately 1,250 square feet and will include restrooms, a janitors closet, a storage room, and a concessions space. One building is located on the home field side and the other is on the visiting team side of the field. The project will include connection to utilities in the vicinity of the project and include but not be limited to: (a) pulling electrical power to each building from a nearby transformer(s) and the setting of new electrical panels in each building (b) installing a new domestic water backflow and meter at Edgefield Ave and extending water supply to each new building; and (c) connection with new sanitary sewer lines from each new building to the existing adjacent lift station. Project Alternates: Alt. #1 - Deduct home field concrete sidewalk "in-fill areas" Alt. #2 - Standard asphalt shingle roof in lieu of metal panels Bid security, in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid amount, shall be submitted with each bid. Separate Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and Insurance in a form acceptable to the Owner in the amount of 100 percent of the contract cost, shall be required to be submitted prior to executing the work. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids. The owner, Gaston County Schools, reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive all irregularities in the proposal process. The estimated award date is October 22, 2024, following the Board of Educations October 2024 meeting. The successful bidder shall begin the Work upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed (approximately November 1, 2024) and shall complete the Work within the agreed upon Contract Time, and Work must be completed prior to July 30, 2025.
