A bid security shall be provided with each bid. Bid security shall be in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid for the Work and shall be cash, a certified check or cashier's check drawn to the order of the County of Calaveras or a Bidder's Bond executed by a surety satisfactory to the County of Calaveras on the form provided in the Proposal section of these Contract Documents. As a condition of award, the successful Bidder will be required to submit bonds and evidence of insurance prior to execution of the Agreement by the County. Failure to meet this requirement shall constitute abandonment of the Bid by the Bidder and forfeiture of the Bidder's security. Award will then be made to the next lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. Complete the work within a total of 10 working days beginning from the date specified on the County's Notice to Proceed. The furnishing of all labor, material, and equipment necessary for: LOCATION/DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: The project is located 12021 Hunt Road, Farmington, CA 95230. The work to be done as shown on the Construction Plans, generally consist of, but is not limited to Repairing final cover in damage area. Installing Geogrid in repair area. Tie-in new final cover to existing final cover. Regrading bench to drain to channel and downdrain. Installing downdrain and anchors. Installing grouted rock slope protection in the channel and downdrain inlet. Seeding the repaired area. Refer to Construction Drawings for further information on scope, and other requirements. Site visit notes. discretion considers necessary in response to questions arising and information presented at the Pre-Bid/Site Visit Meeting. Oral statements shall not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective. Addenda issued as a result of the PreBid/Site Visit Meeting. Any individuals in attendance at the mandatory Pre-Bid/Site Visit meeting must bring their own safety gear to wear during the site visit. The county of Calaveras reserves the right after opening bids to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularity in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive Bidder and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interests of the County. The Purchasing Agent will recommend the bids for award by the Board of Supervisors, or award may be made by the Purchasing Agent as delegated by the Board of Supervisors, as authorized in accordance with local ordinance and/or such authority as defined in Public Contract Code.
