Information for Bidders: All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashiers check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal shall be forfeited to the Port of Benton. The right is reserved to reject and all bids and to waiver informalities in the bidding. The Port of Benton, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252,42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. This Contract provides for the improvement of the Port of Benton's railroad main track near and through the SR 240 at-grade railroad crossings located at MP 26.97 and includes; traffic control, replacement of sub-ballast, ballast, track, crossing surface, and adjacent roadway paving, as well as tie replacement, ballasting, track surfacing in the track adjacent to the crossing, and active signal or warning device upgrades at this location. The project shall be completed within 40 working days. Engineer's Estimate is $1,040,000. Bid / Contract Documents will be available beginning September 3rd, 2024. All bidders are encouraged to inspect the locations of proposed work per requirements found in the special provisions. Questions should be emailed to Sheri Collins, Port of Benton Contracts Specialist at scollins@portofbenton.com in the form of a Request for Information (RFI). The RFI and any written answers will be made available to other bidders unless they are proprietary in nature. Questions pertaining to the bid will not be accepted later than 5:00 pm PST Thursday September 19th, 2024.
