The objective of the project is to replace aging water facilities which have a history of reoccurring main breaks in order to improve reliability of distribution system and replace sewer pipes that have reached the end of their useful life. The Work to be performed under this contract includes the replacement of existing water mains with 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron pipe and replacement of existing sewer mains with 12-inch vitrified clay pipe, installation of new curb ramps and pavement renovation. The work is to be performed in San Francisco, California. The Engineer's Estimate is $10,800,000. The City may award the contract to the responsible Bidder that submits the lowest responsive Bid. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B and Section 2.01 of Attachment 1. The Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontracting requirement is 15.00%. The LBE subcontracting requirement can only be met with certified San Francisco Micro and Small-LBEs. The LBE subcontractor participation requirement is set at under 20% in consideration of the fact that the contract includes Contractor procurement of pipeline materials to be installed within the project limits. Pipeline procurement is through a non-LBE supplier and therefore reduces the overall LBE availability on this contract. SFPUC-LBEs cannot be counted towards meeting the LBE subcontracting requirement(s). A Class "A" California Contractors License is required to bid. Furthermore, each listed subcontractor must possess appropriate active licenses for the work each subcontractor will be performing. The City may not answer questions received less than 10 days prior to the date for opening Bids Question Deadline 09/23/2024
