This section specifies the engineering, furnishing, and installation of the complete hydraulic elevator system as described herein and as indicated on the contract drawings. B. Passenger Elevator shall be oil hydraulic, digital closed-loop microprocessor based control system, and power-operated car and hoistway doors. Elevator shall be Class "A" loading rated. The Base Bid is to include all work as detailed in the Drawings, and specifications to upgrade the current 30-year-old elevator system at the Manchester Police Department Headquarters located at 239 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, CT. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: Retain capacity of 2100 lb elevator. Maintain front and rear opening design as per existing conditions. Furnish and install new oil rated for hydraulic application. Furnish and install new "state of the art" microprocessor controller and leveling/ landing system. Furnish and install new soft starter, new mump motor and new valve. Replace car door operator with new closed loop door operator including mechanical door restrictor. Replace the existing hoistway door equipment (tracks, rollers, interlocks, closers). Replace car operating panel and signal fixtures with LED illuminated buttons and all ADA/ Fire Service code compliant features. Furnish/Install new car, hoistway, and machine room wiring and car traveling cables(s). Replace roller type guides with new roller guides. Furnish and install code-compliant car-tup exist switch, car-top inspection station, escape hatch switch. Furnish and install new alarm bell and battery. Furnish and install new pit stop switch and pit float switch. Dispose of all disabled/ decommissioned elevator equipment. Provide applicable permit and local authority & elevator inspections. Provide and repairing elevator machine room, hoistway, and pit as required to maintain fire rating. Provide & install fire extinguisher in machine room. Removal from premises all demolished/ removed items. Painting of machine room. Removal and legal disposal of hydraulic fluid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or bank check, payable to the Town of Manchester for five percent (5%) of the total bid as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, will promptly execute the contract. The Contractor shall furnish a surety bond or bonds as security for faithful performance of this Contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor and materials under this Contract. The Performance Bond and the Labor and Materials Bond shall be equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and shall be furnished within ten (10) business days of the Notice of Award or prior to the start of Work, whichever comes first. The surety on such bond or bonds shall be a duly authorized surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the State of Connecticut and satisfactory to the Town.
