BACKGROUND Roth Road is an east-west corridor that travels from Manthey Road to Airport Way. The project will rehabilitate the existing pavement on Roth Road between Manthey Road and Intermodal Way to support the movement of truck traffic to and from the Lathrop Intermodal Facility and Interstate 5 (I-5). The work to be performed under this contract is generally described as, but not necessarily limited to: grind off 3" of existing pavement, construct 3" HMA overlay with geogrid, and install new signing and striping, markings and markers on Roth Road from Manthey Road to Intermodal Way. This Project includes Federal Funding, and as such requires adherence to FHWA Form 1273. SITE OF WORK Bidder is responsible for examining the project site and shall not rely in the following description. The project site is located along Roth Road from Manthey Road (City of Lathrop) to Intermodal Way (San Joaquin County). See Project Plans for exact limits of work. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE The engineer's estimate for the work contemplated by the Bid Schedule is $2,015,000. Each Bid shall be accompanied by the Guaranty (Warranty) Bond Acknowledgment and a certified or cashier's check or an approved Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price payable to the City of Lathrop. Said check or bond shall be made payable to the City and shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Work, will enter into a Contract with the City, and will furnish the necessary insurance certificates, Payment Bond, Performance Bond and Guaranty (Warranty) Bond. In case of refusal or failure to enter into said Contract, the check or Bid Bond, as the case may be, shall be forfeited to the City. If the Bidder elects to furnish a Bid Bond as its Bid security, the Bidder shall use the Bid Bond form bound herein, or one conforming substantially to it in form. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond (100%), Payment Bond (100%) and Guaranty (Warranty) Bond (10%) at the stated percentages of the final contract price. COMPLETION OF WORK The Contractor shall commence work under this Contract within 15 calendar days upon receipt of written Notice to Proceed from the City and shall fully complete all work within 30 working days after the Notice to Proceed, subject to provisions contained in the Construction Documents relating to extension of time. The Contractor shall, at all times during the continuance of the Contract, prosecute the work with such force and equipment as are sufficient to complete it within the time specified. The Lathrop City Council reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, to waive any irregularity in a Bid, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as it may best serve the interest of the City of Lathrop.
