The project is described as follows: Complete blast and re-coating of 65' tall, 40,000 gallon Chicago Bridge & Iron 1937 riveted steel legged tank located at 191 West Street, Sparland, IL, with no logo/ lettering included. Shrouding and lead based paint remediation will be required. Complete blasting and re-coating the interior and exterior of 40,000-gallon elevated water tower will be required, along with supply of temporary pressure tankage, repair of the tower top ladder, and replacement of the tank vent. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Village of Sparland negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. No pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for this project. The successful Bidder shall provide at least 50% of all labor required for the completion of this project. This project is funded in whole or in part with grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Attention is called to the fact that: 1. Not less than the Federal prevailing wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. 2. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 24 CFR Part 75. 3. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Prime/General Contractor, or any potential subcontractor, must not be excluded from participating in any federal assistance program [24 CFR 85, Subpart C 85.35; HUD 4010]. The Village of Sparland reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Village of Sparland for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
