The project consists of moving the current entrance to City Hall and making it ADA compliant, demolition of the current bathrooms and moving the electrical and plumbing to create ADA compliant bathrooms. Also, removing the boiler and updating it with a new HVAC system, leveling the floors between the office space and garage area, widening doorways, and creating a large meeting room for City Council and public meetings. Lastly, creating a records storage room in the garage space and removing old flooring and installing consistent flooring throughout the building. Contractor and any of the Contractor's Subcontractors bidding or doing work on this project will be required to be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Information on registration can be obtained by calling (406) 444-7734. All laborers and mechanics employed by Contractor or Subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as required by Montana State Prevailing Wage Rates. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Contractor will also be responsible for acquiring all necessary permits required by the State of Montana. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Big Timber, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful Bidders shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance, as required, shall be provided by the successful Bidder(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. The money, bank instrument, or bid bond shall be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. All bids must expressly covenant that if the bidder shall be awarded the contract, the bidder shall within fifteen (15) calendar days of the acceptance of said bid by the City Council, enter into a contract and give good sufficient bond to secure the performance of the terms and conditions of the contract. In the event the successful bidder does not enter into a formal contract within fifteen (15) calendar days or give sufficient bond to secure performance, the bidder shall pay unto the City the difference between the amount of the bid of said bidder and the amount for which the City legally contracts with another party to perform said work if the latter amount is more than the former. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid that is in the best interest of the Owner.
