This project consists of intersection and pedestrian safety improvements at two locations. The improvements at the intersection of Smith Street at Whitford Avenue and Wyndham Avenue in Providence consists of extending the sidewalk, relocating the RIPTA bus stop and minor drainage work. The improvements in Cranston consists of resurfacing Atwood Avenue between A Street and Cranston Street, converting the rotary to a modern roundabout, reducing the roadway width and minor sidewalk work. The work on this project varies at each location and as a whole will include site preparation, micromilling, resurfacing pavement, constructing ADA compliant wheelchair ramps and sidewalks, drainage improvements, and cleaning existing storm drainage systems.
