Online Q&A Yes Q&A Deadline 09/16/2024 11:59 PM (PDT) In general, the work shall include but is not limited to modernization of the first and second stories of Salinas Fire Station 1, including: Base Bid: o Complete renovation and reconfiguration of existing bunk rooms, restrooms and locker room, and includes new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low voltage systems as indicated on the plans. o Construction of partition walls in the existing apparatus bay to provide landing safety for fire poles and associated electrical and mechanical work. o Structural retrofit: Level 1 Structural Alteration including the installation of new structural ties between the existing block wall and floor diaphragm. Construction also includes the demolition and patching of existing interior finishes and building systems to accommodate this installation. o Electrical and low voltage systems: Construction of and reconnection of existing and proposed electrical power, light fixtures, emergency lights, generator, & new fire alarm and alerting system as indicated on the electrical drawings. o Installation of owner provided generator with fuel base tank, sound enclosure, and automatic transfer switch (ATS). o Full coverage fire alarm and station alerting system backbone; stations alerting devices by owners' vendor. o Installation of new mechanical units to supply heating and cooling to the entirety of the second story including modification to existing duct work, new roof mounted condensing units and required modifications to existing roofing to support new work. Add Alternate 1: o Kitchen and Dining renovation: Construction of new walls, flooring, doors, casework, and other interior finishes as indicated on the plans. Additionally, includes new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated fixtures, and low voltage systems as indicated on the plans. o Dayroom renovation: Construction includes new walls, doors, flooring, and retractable folding partition. Additionally includes required modifications to existing ceiling grid, mechanical, electrical, and low voltage systems. Add Alternate 2: o Apparatus Bay doors replacement: Replacement of rear apparatus bay overhead doors and associated electrical - power & disconnect for new doors. Add Alternate 3: o Library and office renovation: Construction includes new flooring, doors, casework, ACT ceiling, and other interior finishes as indicated on the plans. Additionally includes required modifications to existing mechanical & electrical and low voltage systems. Add Alternate 4: o Exercise room: Construction of an exercise room in the existing apparatus bay including walls, doors, impact flooring, and interior finishes as indicated on the plans.
