Fairfax County is soliciting pre-bid qualification applications for the construction of the Little River Turnpike Walkway (Eastbound) project. The project is proposed to extend a variable width sidewalk along the south side of Little River Turnpike between Hillbrook Drive and Little River Run Drive to have a continuous pedestrian travel path. The scope of work also includes but is not limited to a 1,629-foot-long variable width walkway, two concrete bus pads with shelters, street and pedestrian signal improvements at the intersection of Little River Turnpike and Evergreen/Hillbrook, storm sewer main and structure improvements along Little River Turnpike, replacement of approximately 840 feet of water main including 812 of 6", 36' of 8", and 36' of 30" main, signage and markings, and a 259-foot retaining wall with sections requiring soldier piles. The construction cost for this project is estimated to be between $4 million to $6 million. The estimated duration for the construction of this project will be 548 calendar days. The anticipated date for the Construction Authorization is estimated to be winter 2024 and the Substantial Completion date is estimated to be summer 2026. These are estimated dates and durations and are subject to change. Only firms that have been pre-qualified are eligible to submit bids for this project. Bids received from those who have not been pre-qualified will not be considered. This is a UNIT price Contract. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all Applications, and to waive informalities and irregularities in the Pre-qualification Application procedure. Contractor's License: A statement of applicant's ability to acquire a Virginia Class A Contractor's License with appropriate specialty classification, if currently unlicensed, prior to bidding; and a commitment to require that all affected subcontractors obtain applicable Virginia licenses.
