Sealed bids will be received by the City Council of the City of Union City, California, for Custodial Services and other work as described in this Contract Book. For specific questions regarding the contract documents, please contact Bob Calderon at (510) 675-5337 or bobc@unioncity.org. Only bids from organizations/companies which have requested for a bid package from the City will be entertained. Site visit info : A total of two mandatory pre-bid walk-through meetings will be held for prospective bidders. Attendance at a minimum of one of two pre-bid walk-through meetings is required to submit a bid proposal. (Prospective bidders who have been to the first walk-through are recommended to see the facilities once more.) Please confirm your attendance at least 48 hours in advance of your interested meeting date by contacting Denisse Homen at denissea@unioncity.org. One-time "Initial Clean-up" may be required at some facilities and the scope of the clean-ups will be shared at the walk-through. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check made payable to the City of Union City in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate amount of the bid. Period of Contract: For an initial two (2) year period, with provisions for monthly payments, and thereafter with an option for City to extend this agreement for 12 months up to two (2) additional years. The term of extension shall be one year at a time. Contractor covenants and agrees to extend the agreement as stated above, provided City shall notify Contractor in writing, during the life of the agreement, at least thirty (30) days prior to the expiration date of the agreement as stated herein or as extended.
