This project will provide GRU with the additional flow capacity required to accommodate upcoming development projects and will also address the issues associated with pipe degradation along this alignment. The replacement gravity sewer main will be 24" in diameter and will be replaced with a PVC pipe. The overall project length is roughly 2,500 feet of new gravity sewer main and will include two trenchless jack and bore pipe crossings under existing Alachua county roadways. The existing 16" ductile iron main will either be removed or abandoned/grouted in place . The proposed gravity sewer main will be designed all the way to the existing Lift Station 21. GRU will be entertaining bids through a Design-Bid-Build procurement process for the construction of the new 24-inch diameter PVC gravity sewer main parallel to an existing 16-inch GM on Ft. Clarke Blvd from NW 23rd Ave south to NW 15th Place into a GRU lift station. Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) existing 16" ductile iron gravity sewer main from Manhole (MH) 3638-24 down to Lift Station (LS) 21 is currently in need of being replaced due to a projected increase in the number of customers on this collection system and to resolve issues related to interior pipe degradation. Project area is in a residential area of Gainesville adjacent to numerous schools so safety and security will be of upmost importance. Question Submission Deadline:September 16, 2024, 5:00pm - All questions shall be in directed in writing to GRU's Purchasing Agent: Annie Velez at veleza1@gru.com Est.cost- $ 4,600,000.00 (Construction Services Only) o Open cutting and jack & bore installation of Gravity Sewer Main with Armorock Manholes and associated appurtenances as shown in the Drawings. o Provide dewatering to install work in dry conditions in accordance with the Contract Documents. o Provide and operate sanitary sewer temporary bypass systems to facilitate the construction in accordance with the Contract Documents. o Provide and operate stormwater temporary bypass systems to facilitate the construction in accordance with the Contract Documents. o Provide all necessary maintenance of traffic to facilitate construction. o Provide all necessary sediment and erosion control. o Removal and replacement of curbs, sidewalks, driveways, asphalt, sod/lawn, vegetation, signs, lights, and any other structures and facilities damaged during construction as required for site restoration. o Restore all existing flow lines in disturbed areas to the satisfaction of the Owner and Authority Having Jurisdiction. o Provide all materials testing, field testing, preliminary as-builts, permit close-out documents, commissioning, and start-up in accordance with the Contract Documents. o Provide final close-out documents and as-builts in accordance with the Contract Documents. The term of this Contract shall commence on the October 16, 2024 and terminate on October 15, 2025.
