The West Cliff 60-inch RCP Repair Project will stabilize the eroded slope around the 60-inch reinforced concrete pipe beneath the West Cliff Dr footpath between Auburn Ave and Sacramento Ave. The goal of this project is to prevent property loss to a public infrastructure, stabilize the eroded slope, and restore the 60-inch outfall by December 2024. Background The City of Santa Cruz was incorporated in 1866 and formed its current charter in 1948. It is governed under a Council/Manager form of government. This report describes the geotechnical investigation and presents our conclusions and recommendations for the proposed culvert storm damage repair located at the intersection of Auburn Avenue and West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, California. For purposes of this report, "site" refers to the damaged culvert segment near 2116 West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, California. Our scope of services for this project has consisted of: 1. Site reconnaissance to observe the existing conditions. 2. Review of literature and maps pertinentto the site. 3. Geologic mapping and preparation of a geologic map and one cross section. 4. Drilling and logging of 2 test borings. 5. Laboratory analysis of retrieved soil samples. 6. Engineering analysis of the field and laboratory test results. 7. Preparation of this report documenting our investigation and presenting geotechnical and geological recommendations for the design of the chosen repair scheme.
