Water Tower No. 1 Rehabilitation: This contract consists of miscellaneous items of rehabilitation to Water Tower No. 1, including such items as installation of new 12" inlet piping with an interior tank valving system, replacement of the wet riser and roof access manways, installation of a new balcony access manway and interior ladders, installation of a safety climb system, replacement of the overflow piping, adjustment of sway rods, removal of the existing exterior liquid level indicator, replacement of roof finial ball vent with a frost-proof vent, blasting and coating entire tank interior, prepping and coating all affected tank exterior areas, along with other items of work as specified and indicated on the drawings. For Tower No. 1, no records could be obtained regarding prior heavy-metal-based paint removal or disposal. Accordingly, Contractor will need to conduct necessary coating tests as required by the work to be performed to ensure compliance with applicable coating and waste disposal regulations. If coating test results necessitate special handling or disposal procedures, a change order for those added costs will be negotiated between Contractor and Owner. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. The last day questions will be accepted from potential bidders is Friday, September 6, 2024.
