This project consists of, but is not limited to, the demolition of the remnants of the former Fulton Gas Works including all hazardous material abatement, asphalt, concrete, gravel, selected utilities, underground storage tank, utility lines and other associated site features. The existing impervious areas designated for demolition will be graded and transformed into pervious area (topsoil and seeded). The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the continued (Phase II) demolition of the former Fulton Gas Works Demo and Remediation that includes, but is not limited to, site utility excavation/demolition, non-hazardous soil disposal, hazardous material abatement, building demolition, and overall site preparation for future (re)development efforts. The site is located at 3301 Williamsburg Road, Richmond, VA 23223. Question Response Deadline: August 30, 2024, 2:00pm. The undersigned further agrees to complete the work as bid within 270 consecutive calendar days after Notice to Proceed. As the time allotted for the completion of the Work is of the essence, if the work is not completed within specified time for the completion of the Work, there shall be deducted from the contract price, not as a penalty but as liquidated damages, $500 for each and every calendar day of delay in the completion of the work beyond the time specified, subject to all the terms of the General Conditions. Bidder confirms - the submittal to the City concurrently with submission of this Bid is a certified or cashier's check in accordance with the General Conditions made payable to the City of Richmond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount set forth in item 14 of this Bid Form which check is to be forfeited as liquidated damages if, in case this Invitation for Bid is accepted, the undersigned shall fail to execute the attached contract in accordance with the General Conditions; OR a Bid Bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount set forth in item 14 of this Bid Form. Should the bidder so elect, said check will be returned to the undersigned upon delivery of a satisfactory bond.
