The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) is seeking bids to furnish and install three (3) replacement sewer pump station backup generators at Bradley International Airport (BDL).. The CAA will also offer a mandatory walk-thru for Bidders interested in touring the relevant areas. This tour will be limited to no more than two (2) individuals per Bidder. Bidders must RSVP in order to participate in the tour. The deadline to submit questions will be September 17, 2024, 11:00 a.m. (EDT). The CAA reserves the right to respond to only questions it deems part of the technical process. Responses to questions will be provided to all bidders in the form of an Addendum to the IFB, if the CAA determines it is in its best interest. Any questions received after this time will likely be unanswered. The CAA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to respond to such questions. If a Bidder has a question related to the technical process after the question deadline noted above, they may reach out to the CAA's Purchasing Agent via e-mail at procurement@ctairports.org. Completion- (120) calendar days These generators provide backup power for the main sewage ejection pumps, and must always remain operational. The Contractor is required to supply a temporary generator during the replacement at each location for the duration of the project. The temporary generator will be wired to automatically supply power during all utility power outages. The Contractor will be responsible for maintaining fuel level in the temporary generator. The temporary generator is to be online once the existing generator's fuel is emptied and goes offline. GENERAL o 30KW Diesel Engine driven generator 240VAC or 208VAC 3-PHASE 60 HZ. PF: 0.8, Lagging. Overload Capacity: 110 percent of service load for 1 hour in 12 consecutive hours. Nema 3R ATS 48-hour (160 Gal.) day tank Skid/mount tank (subbase-mounted tank) Sound Enclosure Internal enclosure silencer Heavy Duty Air Intake. Manufacturer Warranty minimum 5 years or 3000 hours. TRAFFIC CIRCLE and SEWER PLANT LOCATION o CAA will remove fuel out of fuel tank prior to any work. o The contractor is to disconnect the existing generator and automatic transfer switch o The contractor is to supply a temporary generator for the duration of the project. Temp, generator is to be wired in to supply power during any utility power outages automatically. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining fuel level in the temp, generator. Temp, generator to be online once existing generator's fuel is emptied and goes offline. o The contractor is to utilize a rotation meter to record pump rotation and then remove the old generator and empty fuel tank out of the fenced in area and off to the side. CAA will be responsible for loading and haul away. o The contractor is responsible for any modifications needed to the concrete pad to accept proper fitment of the new generator and fuel tank. o Once the new generator and automatic transfer switch that conforms to the preceding specifications have been installed, the contractor is use a rotation meter to verify correct rotation and then perform a load bank test during commissioning of the generator. o The contractor is to supply the CAA with documentation of correct pump rotation, commissioning and load bank test with the manufacture's approval. o The contractor may remove the temporary generator only once the new generator is online. 7-11 LOCATION :- This generator is located on the airside. Contractor's vehicle(s) must be in good working order, have working lights, and 4-way flashers, or a rotating amber beacon. Each vehicle is subject to search each day by Connecticut State Police prior to entry.
