The proposal shall include a bid bond for 5% of the total bid in accordance with IDOT standards (or equal) to insure that the contractor will be able to provide a performance bond to guarantee completion of the awarded contract. Description of Work: The project includes the removal and replacement of existing Type 2 PC concrete curb and gutter, existing PC concrete sidewalk, existing PC concrete driveway aprons, and existing bituminous concrete driveway aprons. It also includes the milling and patching of existing pavement, a bituminous concrete overlay, and other misc. work. Funding and Scope Adjustments: This project is being funded entirely with DCEO Grant funds. The contractor must submit a BEP Plan on the DCEO forms included in the proposal booklet with the bid. Village of Orland Hills reserves the right to adjust the project scope prior to the award if is determined to be in the best interest of the village and acceptable to the contractor. The village also reserves the right to adjust quantities as recommended by the design engineer as work progresses. 5. Compliance: The contractor shall be required to comply with all Federal, State of Illinois, DCEO, Cook County, and Village of Orland Hills applicable laws, acts, disclosures, certifications, and prevailing wages. 6. Rejection of Bids: The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Hills reserve the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Article 102 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction," prepared by the Department of Transportation of the State of Illinois. ***Document Note: Proposal Booklet: Proposal booklets will only be released to contractors with a current IDOT Certificate of Eligibility for this type of work. Transmit a digital copy of your current IDOT Certificate of Eligibility to brad@bebeltd.com along with a request for a set of the proposal documents. No proposal booklets will be released in response to requests received after noon on August 23, 2024.
