The Project includes: 1.Construction of approximately 850 linear feet of 16-inch water main along Shiley Road. The proposed waterline will be extended from an existing 16-inch waterline located on Shiley Road. After crossing Shiley Road, the new main will run along the west side of Shiley Road to the intersection with Nadenboush Lane. The District has all necessary easements and DOH permit. 2. Existing water mains are to remain in service throughout construction. 3. Work shall include pavement excavation, backfill; compaction; bedding and backfill material; disposal of all excavated material; water main, fittings, valves, hydrants and appurtenances; mechanical joint restraints; patching; resurfacing to WVDOT standards if needed; jacking and boring; testing; maintenance of traffic; signage; sediment and erosion control; permits; compliance with permits; laboratory work; and coordination with the District, all as shown on the drawings and as specified, complete and in place. District. Questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents shall be submitted to the District in writing by 5:00 p.m. on September 23, 2024. Questions received after this time may not be answered Bids shall be on a lump sum basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. All work shall be substantially completed within one-hundred twenty (120) calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run, and completed and ready for final payment within 180 calendar day after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Liquidated damages shall be $ 200 per day. All Bidders are required to have a West Virginia Contractor's License per Section 21-11-11 of the West Virginia Code. Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor's license on the date of Bid opening. BCSPWD reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, and to waive any informalities and regulations therein. All bidders must agree that such rejection shall be without liability on the part of the Owner for any damage or claim brought by any bidder because of such rejections, nor shall the bidders seek any recourse of any kind against the Owner because of such rejections.
